There are a number of studies that indicate that people who eat less meat than the average Western diet, live longer.

Some of these studies give estimates of how much longer you might live. The Seventh-day Adventist study is well known. We selected the more conservation Bellavia et al. study, which indicated that every day you don’t eat the average Western meat consumption, you live approximately 45 minutes longer. According to the World Health Organisation particular types of meat seem to be responsible for more of the problems, most notably processed red meats.
